1. Releases the Exterior, induces sweating and dispels/disperses Cold:
- Exterior Wind-Cold Excess
- No sweating, aversion to cold, fever, headache
- Coughing and wheezing due to impaired dispersion of LU Qi
- Oedema in the upper body with an Exterior Condition
Dosage (raw herb)
- 1.5 -10g. Decoct first, raw form is used for Exterior Conditions while honey-fried form is used for wheezing
Precautions
- Contraindicated with spontaneous sweating due to Exterior Deficiency, night sweating due to Yin deficiency, coughing and wheezing due to Kidney unable to grasp the Qi
- Use with caution in hypertension and arrhythmia
